Handmade Christmas

Now that Christmas is over, I find myself bored to death. So I thought I’d share some of the handmade items our family put together this Christmas.

The Advent “calendar” made of colored cardstock.

A set of cloth napkins upcycled from a shabby chic quilt.

For my kids – a set of “play silks” (dyed dish towels). These are an open-ended toy where they can create whatever they want with them. Baby blankets, capes, sunshine, boats, whatever.

For my mom & sister – a set of dyed dish towels in rainbow colors.

Seatbelt covers – these must be very nice to have because I’ve made quite a few of these for people by request.

The inside of the seatbelt covers. They are completely reversible.

An assortment of canned goods. Jelly, jam and tomato products.

Somewhat of a last minute idea when I was digging around for something else….seeds from my garden to yours.

12 dozen cookies for the kids’ Christmas program at church.

The kids made these for neighbors and grandparents. Very fun project!

Another project I did somewhat on a whim….homemade watercolors. These are trays for homemade baby food and now they have a new life.

A little Christmas tree project with scrap book paper. The interpretation was quite different.

My favorite project by far….little backpacks for the kids.

Each box in the Advent calendar had legos in it to build these 2 things.
