Food for Getting Together: Kid-Worthy Grown Up Food

Bryce’s 2nd birthday was several weeks ago now, but I really loved the menu from that day and wanted to share it. It was an easy, inexpensive, no fuss meal with minimal prep, served buffet-style. The menu appeals to both kids and grown ups alike, and is fairly healthy. To balance the cake that’s comes afterward, I suppose.

We served:

Rotisserie chicken, store-bought

Roasted potatoes and miscellaneous other vegetables

Steamed broccoli with butter and lemon pepper

Rainbow fruit salad

Chocolate milk

Cake and ice cream, of course

This spread served 6 adults and 5 children comfortably.

She’s going to kill me, but this is how I know that my family likes my food. They stop using plates and just use the serving bowl.
