Command Center

I just finished up a fun little project: building a command center in our home.

Before I purchased anything for this project, I envisioned a flexible area that could grow and change with our needs, multi-function surfaces, and a large enough area to map out everything. It had to have a combination of magnetic and writable surfaces, so naturally a magnetic chalkboard came to mind.

I set out to the thrift stores a couple of Saturdays ago to find something that fulfilled all of my wishes. Imagine the shock of finding everything at the same store for only $13. I purchased 2 Ikea magnetic wall boards and a wood-framed chalkboard slash corkboard. I also purchased a quart of chalkboard paint (way too much) and a small roller for an additional $15.

Let us take a photo tour of this project from start to finish!
